Shjark proudly unveils Winter 2025, a collection drawing inspiration from David Bowie's iconic 1971 era and the track, 'Life on Mars?'. Capturing the song's enigmatic essence, and blending the avant-garde spirit of the early '70s with Shjark's commitment to modern sophistication and timeless design.
'Life on Mars?' emerged during a transformative period in the early 1970s, a time when New York's art scene was flourishing and marked a shift towards artistic expression and individuality. This era saw artists breaking traditional boundaries, leading to groundbreaking collaborations and a vibrant cultural renaissance.
Our Winter '25 Collection reflects that spirit; blending classic, clean lines and impeccable tailoring with a subtle rock’n’roll sensibility that the brand is renowned for. The result is a paired back fusion of timeless elegance and contemporary edge, reminiscent of the era's cultural renaissance.
The palette for this season mirrors the vivid imagery evoked in Bowie's masterpiece. Pale blues reminiscent of clear winter skies intertwine with rich rusty reds, echoing urban landscapes, while deep charcoals provide grounding accents. This unexpected blend offers a fresh perspective on winter fashion, inviting wearers to explore bold yet elegant colour combinations.
Staying true to our dedication to quality, the collection features luxurious wools, fluid silks, and meticulously structured tailoring. Key pieces include the Oslo suiting - a versatile jacket and trouser ensemble designed for both unified and separate wear - and the Palermo suiting, which pairs a wool jacket with tailored trousers or a refined complementary skirt. The Pallenburg Coat, crafted from plush wool, offers warmth and elegance in our signature everyday silhouette. Additionally, beloved blouses return in new designs such as the Rothko and Tilda blouses, alongside winter adaptations of favourites like the Capri Dress and Baildon Shirt.
