Shjark began with a simple instinct: a desire for less.
Less noise. Less excess.
A wardrobe built from fewer, better pieces.
In 2015, after designing for some of the most recognised brands in New Zealand fashion, I set out to create something entirely my own.
From the beginning, the intention was clear: clothes that support life rather than interrupt it. Pieces designed to move easily through the day, allowing women to focus on what matters rather than what they are wearing.
The language of Shjark was defined by clean lines, restraint and quiet confidence. Tailoring that holds its shape. Fabrics chosen for integrity and longevity. Coats and suiting that anchor a wardrobe, alongside dresses and trousers designed to be worn and lived in.
But while the wardrobe was pared back, it was never about neutrality. The clothes were designed to carry presence. Strength, character and a sense of quiet magnetism. Even at its most restrained, Shjark has always held a little bit of magic.
Over time, the clarity of that original idea has remained unchanged. Even the earliest collections still feel entirely relevant today, a reflection of how considered the foundation was from the beginning.
At its core, it became a concise modular wardrobe informed by utility, form and function. Classically grounded yet modern. Versatile without losing character. Designed to integrate seamlessly with a woman’s existing wardrobe while leaving space for her own expression.
What has mattered most, however, are the women who choose to wear it. Seeing Shjark worn by strong, independent women doing extraordinary things has been one of the greatest privileges of building this brand.
After a decade of refining this philosophy, the Autumn ’26 collection, The Refined Line, brings that original instinct into its clearest focus.

The Refined Line reflects the essence of what Shjark has always set out to create: a concise wardrobe of purposeful, enduring pieces designed to earn their place.
Ten years of refinement have brought the idea to its most resolved expression.
With this, the Grey Lynn store will close, and the brand shifts into a new phase.
This chapter closes with The Refined Line.
The instinct remains unchanged, simply redirected toward what comes next.
